    he's a 29/22/3 over 126, at the time he was an unknown as I had just sat down at the table. Normally against an agressive player I would snap call this, but he's an unknown 5bet shoving against an utg raise?

    Hero raises to $4, 3 folds, BB raises to $11.5, Hero raises to $30, BB calls $161.10 (All-In), Hero...

    UTG raise in a 5 handed game is a bit of a different matter. You are getting ~2/1 on the rest of your money, but since he had just sat down it might be best to just fold and top up.

    Why 3 bet him? He's reraised you light from the BB. With these stacks I call with AK there every time.

    I call him everytime, you only have 64.50 left to go in and the pot is 124.50 so we're getting like 2:1 and with that PFA factor he could easily have more than AA, KK, QQ AKs and AKo, which even if that was his range we're a 60:40

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 38.824% 18.14% 20.68% 78295380 89232168.00 { AKo }
    Hand 1: 61.176% 40.50% 20.68% 174740892 89232168.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

    Add in any other hands and it becomes hugely +EV, if you take out QQ, it's still OK:

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 37.057% 08.19% 28.87% 25243836 88972014.00 { AKo }
    Hand 1: 62.943% 34.08% 28.87% 105026856 88972014.00 { KK+, AKs, AKo }

    I don't think I'd ever fold this here.

    Those are pretty damning numbers, looks like a clear call when you run it through then.

    It usually is with AK, it's why it usually is the nuts PF.. :D especially when only 100BB's deep.

    hmmm, ok, I actually snapped called this and stacked off to his aa. I thought afterwards maybe considering it was bb vs utg i maybe should have played it differently. thoughts on the 3-bet? standardo?

    Seems standard to me usually, I'll raise with the intention of calling a push, and then open push *almost* any flop if checked to. Stacks are about right for it.

    This is the exact type of situation i was trying to get discussion going on in the other thread.

    I mean the numbers look so good when you see Ste's stats after running it in pokerstove. I just have my doubts due to how much more of a weighting AA and KK should be getting in the range.

    Maybe its just cause i seem to have run AK in KK and AA so much lately.

    The maths looks very very good.

    However, if you raise, its re-raised, you re-re-raise, and the other guy goes all in, what hand do you put the other guy on?

    Surely standard at these levels is to re-raise with the AK, hoping to hit the flop 1 time in 3, and play position if appropriate, or drop it, if more than 100 BB deep.

    Should you not just race AK with the shorties?
