    Hi All

I have a 125 Maurader and last week I was riding along and it felt like the bike was being pulled back. It threatened to cut out but didn't.

I changed the oil and filter and it ran ok but then when accelating in 3rd it pulled back and kind of spluttered, i changed into fourth and it didn't happen again.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

    thanks

I'm thinking either electric or fuel related.

When is the last time you changed your spark plugs?

    Is your air filter dirty?

Did you check your fuel filter?

i've not had the bike long so I've not changed the spark plugs. So I will change them tomorrow and check the other things. Thanks for the help. I will post my progress.

I had one of these bikes as my first bike, the build quality is terrible so your problem could be one of many things, did you buy it new or used? Im no mechanic but I would agree with the above post about the fuel, could be the carb maybe. Best to take it to a mechanic.

The more I think about this the more I think it's fuel related... Could be dirty fuel or dirty carbs... Or dirty fuel filter...

The carbs wear and can give problems on marauders.

Definitely sounds like a carbs problem. I had no end of trouble with the carb on mine.

It's an 05 and I got it second hand.

i will check out the carbs too then, thanks!

instead of taking the carb apart, a quick thing to do is just drain the carb using the drain screw at the back of the carb. sometimes this will run out any dirt that is stuck.
