Hi all, my neighbour recently bought an 32" lcd tv and has anologue mmds service for her tv channels, the reception is basically crap most of the time, i am thinking of advising her to go with digital tv either fta, ftv or a basic sky package and will be informing her the picture would be perfect or damn near it, but before i do, would someone be kind enough to inform me am i correct in my opinion on the difference.

    many thanks , voyager;)

Yes a Digital system would be far better than Analog MMDS, I'm surprised she hasn't been informed of need to upgrade by Chorus regarding the scheduled shutdown of the service shortly.

    Maybe she's not paying ;)
You could get those Jerrold boxes in car boot sales back in the day. From my experience digital MMDS didn't look great on an old manky 14", never mind a 32"!

Need Satellite and DVDs to get decent pics on a 32" LCD.

My father in law has Chorus Digital MMDS on a 32"CRT and the picture is crap. Looks really compressed or brodcast with in a low bitrate. He is happy enough as he knows no difference:D
I would'nt like to see him get a large LCD though.

Thanks for the replies all, i had a feeling that digital was the best option for preferred reception, i have passed on the relevant info to her and through inquiry have been told that chorus have not contacted her (yet) about the upcoming change over to digital. However her initial inquiry has been solved with your welcome advice, thanks again to all.

    voyager ;)
