    Hi guys,
Used to record from tv before with no problem when I had the video channel tuned in. Then all you had to do was tune the vcr in. You needed to do this to watch the films etc But now I have a portable tv and when I play a video (yes i still use them on occasion  ) no matter what station I'm on it switches to av and plays the film. This means I haven't needed to tune a specific channel for the vcr nor can i if I try.

Is there a way around this?

Is the portable switching to AV because you have it connected to the VCR with a scart cable?

not sure. TV connected by scart to DVD which is connected by another scart to VCR. Think i tried different combo's and that's the only one which would allow DVD etc to play.

But SCART is better quality picture anyway.
If you unplug VHS SCART you can "tune in" manually.
