One for the girls - Two Pill packs

    Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is in the right forum....As suggested in title, I took two pill packs back to back to avoid having my period when I was on holidays.
I'm now a week into my second pack and I'm feeling really miserable, like I have PMT x 100, my breasts are tender and sore, I'm so moody and feeling depressed and cranky. I just wanted to know if any other girls have had the same experience? I don't think I'll be doing it again any time soon!!

    Thanks so much,
    Cassie

I'm no expert, but why not stop taking the pill and have your period? Then start a fresh?

OP, taking pills back to back is something you should talk to your pharmacist or GP about

Eh check with your doc, this is not a medical board and I'm sure it's not a good idea to take 2 packs back to back...also pill is not 100% and they are all symptoms of pregnancy.

yes I have done this before ( on docs advice) to avoid having a period..and yes i did feel the old PMT was far worse as a result ...complete antichrist.....it settles back after next period..maybe talk to your GP just in case?

It's quite common to take two packs back to back for this very reason (holiday). I don't think there is any risk involved.

I've always done two packs back to back (if it would fall on a holiday) on the instructions on my doctor. Still get pms feelings though. If you are worried ring one of the Wellwoman Centres around Ireland - they are very helpful with questions like that.

As has been said it's quite common to take two packs back to back.

OP head along to your pharmacist (they are best ones to talk to when it comes to the medication you've been prescribed. and it's free!) and ask them what they might suggest.

I suggest you get your hands on evening primrose tablets and start taking them. A friend of mine has recently been going through some hormonel changes due to coming off the pill and has found them to be a help.

    A.
