I am currently working in IT tech support hell. been here for two months and it is wrecking my head. stress levels are through the roof. anyway, i have some interviews lined up but asked for some time off (holiday requests) was denied this, told that all June is booked out and most of July. i am thinking of handing in my notice (5 day notice period). what is the best way to do this?
is it right to do this without something concrete set up?

It's risky to be honest, i'm in a similar position. Current job wrecking my head, only been here a couple of months and worried about getting time off for interviews.

I was considering handing in notice (2 weeks) and then trying to find a job, but you're never guaranteed.

Do you have any savings to live on should the worst occur and you don't get any of the jobs you're going for? Do you have a good CV? Is there a good chance of getting any of them?

well, it's done. and it's quite surprising  aswell. the five day notice period is just a guide. HR said let us know in writing the date you intend to leave. i have been granted time off to attend interviews ;) but can more or less continue in the same capacity . they're a bit short staffed at the moment so not polite to just leave in an instant. it's just a weight off my shoulders to clear the air and show my hand. the boss seemed cool with it which knocked me sideways!. in terms of cash reserves i'm okay for 2-3 months. it's more or less an extended notice period. just looking for 3-6 months contracts/temp work. intend to move to london come the autumn.
