coax cable for Sky+

Just bought a 32" Hd tv and have analogue NTL. DVDs look great, but ordinary tv looks a bit blurry. Thinking of getting Sky+ but I have coax cable wired in the walls. Can I re-use this cable for Sky+ or does it use a different wire type? Don't want to have to chase walls or re-run cables if I can avoid it.

    Thanks

the thing is is that you actually need two co-ax (preferable satellite cables) from the box to the dish.

Is that the same for NTL digital?

If you dont have CT100 cabling in the walls, you can at worse put your sky+ box in the attic by putting an electrical socket up there. You can then use the single cable to bring the signal to the room you require and use of a magic eye to change the channels.

However a few other points to note are, you will require a phoneline for sky plus, and also by use of the rf function instead of using the scart will only give u the Mono sound.

However that aside you can put a digital amp in the attic and pump the sky box around the house to other rooms as well.

This is the last place you should put a satellite receiver apart from the obvious picture quality degradation and loss of stero sound

I agree with Tony. Attic is no place for any satellite receiver, even less so for a sensitive Sky+ box.

Besides, if the OP wants to offer better signal quality then using Scart is the best way of doing so, with RGB enabled on the receiver. Also, Scart is required for Widescreen switching.
