    Starting a new hand (#574304670)
    Texas Holdem NL $0.25/$0.50 - 2007-06-12 23:18:21 Server
    Table Makhado
    Seat 1: ShaveMeShamrock ( $90.80 )
    Seat 5: CHL86 ( $87.60 )
    Seat 8: kelebeczek ( $42.55 )
    Seat 10: SchnabelBier ( $57.05 )
    kelebeczek posts Small Blind $0.25
    SchnabelBier posts Big Blind $0.50
    Dealing cards
    Your cards Ac As [ShaveMeShamrock]
    ShaveMeShamrock raises $2
    CHL86 calls $2
    kelebeczek folds
    SchnabelBier raises $8.50???

Should we be happy someone has 3 bet and disguised our hand somewhat. By 4 betting im saying ive AA-KK and im only getting action from KK here. The only action im likely to get on the flop if someone does call a 4bet here is if they hit the flop hard, if i call im likely to get some action from the original RR as hes sure to make a stab at the pot even if he misses but with this hand we want as much in preflop as possible and its a nice pot to take down preflop. Whats my most profitable line.

Both villains are TAG's CHL86 is aggressive on the flop but the stats are too small to be conclusive maybe 50 hands on each

I think I just go ahead and 4 bet, he might just push with AK, QQ, obv. KK and who knows possibly JJ. I just really don't want to be playing what will be basically be a 200BB pot OOP to the major threat. Calling can be a more profitable line but it's riskier and would depend on the table dynamics at the time, what sort of hands will your call look like to CHL86, if you do just call?

    What is your image like??

i like to just call here most of the time, but you could potentially be oop against chl86 so maybe a 4bet is best. like ste was saying if you called what do you think the other players will put you on? beware the friggin 9810 flop.

i'd flat call some of the time if it wasn't for chl86,as it stands with him left to act behind you you have to 4bet really.

i'd make it 20 to go.

this is the sensible option. do you think it's always wrong to let two people in when you have AA/KK?

almost always, unless you know both players very well and have some specific reason just to call here.

if one player has position on you i think you should never let two people see the flop here, and the fact that he has nearly 200bbs only makes the case for raising even stronger.

I raised to $27, i wanted to get heads up but i knew if i raised too small and CHL called then SchnabelBier would have too good off odds not to call considering he more than likely has a decent hand. Both Folded, just contemplating wheter it was more profitable to be calling in the long run.

My image proabably wouldnt have made much difference as im only here for 50 hands but it would have been tight aggressive and id probably only get paid of on a low flop if they had JJ-QQ or a King Flop if the had AK. I suppose its never a bad thing to take down a 3 bet flop preflop OOP

    Cheers

Smooth-calling to disguise our hand(after some time in the tank of course) isnt out of the question, but i'd bump it up to about 24, you don't want people getting odds to spike a set cheaply, and you want as much money in the pot pre-flop as possible. If he has KK or even QQ, chances are you'll stack him. As for the guy who called you, I doubt he has a hand good enough to call a re-raise, let alone a re re-raise.

And yeah, winning it pre-flop isnt the worst thing in the world. Reverse implied odds on AA are pretty terrible.
