Seems that Safari 3.0b breaks a few things for webkit-based apps. I noticed it (easily) with Adium -- I'd randomly be unable to see my conversations!
Oh well. Hope y'all kept that uninstaller handy...

Is this only when Safari is running?

I noticed MSN Messenger crashing every now and again alright.

Nope, this happens whether or not Safari is running.
From what I can tell, it's because of both apps rely on the Webkit render engine (like how FF & Camino rely on Gecko), and the Webkit installed with the 3.0 beta caused Adium to become unstable / render improperly.

... well, it is beta software....

Oh well I'd better get rid of it then, I don't want it inferring with Adium. I was going to stick with Camino till Leopard arrives anyway. The new webkit explains the need to restart after installing.
