have you input your dns settings/isp username and password manually? ... if not that should work

Tried that but may have inputted them incorrectly. It passes the connection test and the DNLA test but hangs on the above part for some reason?

have you enabled ports open on your router? ... some routers may not automatically do this, so you may have to open them manually?

not sure what ports they are off hand, but they are either in the manual, or you shouldfind them with a quick googel ... i think its UDP 5730???

Why is this particular game so particular about working online!!

I have a Netopia 3347NWG wireless router. How do I open ports as I've never done it before?

you have to remeber its a ps2 game, and its not really designed for the psn network mate.

you'll need to get the address of your router from your isp, and type it in your browser .... it looks something like this 192.168.1.254 if you are with eirocom i think. Check the pc forum about opening ports as they will be better equipped to answer i think.

Just wondering has anyone actually managed to play this online yet either on a PS2 or PS3 using a Netopia 3347NWG wireless router?

Like peepingtom mentioned, you need to setup port forwarding for PES6.

Just follow any these guides for your router (and using the PES-specific port 5730 as mentioned): http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netopia/3347NWG/3347NWGindex.htm

Still having problems it's saying that the server maybe too busy or a firewall or router is blocking it. I've opened the correct ports as far as I'm aware.

Has anyone actually got this game to work on line at all?

yes it works fine mate ... ok try allowing port 5730 in your firewall settings in your control panel in windows

edit: .... im not sure about this bit now i come to think of it .... have you a seperate firewall running? .... have you enabled NAT in your router? (you need to do this for gaming) .... i think i use static NAT

I changed the port setting in the game settings itself to 65500 (I think) last night after a few hours of messing around with it i.e. putting in random numbers and it worked :)

It should be made easier though - we shouldn't have to go messing around with ports etc....

No way would i contact those Muppets at Eircom,

I remember calling them setting up Xbox 360 and they put me on to a guy who was a total "GOBSH**E"

It took boards members 2 minutes to fix my problem back then

I was expecting problems when I tried to go online with it but luckily I didn't have to mess around with anything.

In one of my games though once the second half started there was huge lag. And even in an offline 2 player game there was some annoying lagging (but at least then it continues from the same point so it's more like slow motion, unlike online)
