Anyone going Cherbourg -> Rosslare in July?

    Ok so here's the predicament. My missus and I are moving home from Germany with our dog. According to the Dept. of the environment we cannot fly into Ireland with the dog from any city in Germany (only some in Poland and some private jets are allowed!)

    So we have to take the ferry from Cherbourg to Rosslare. This is fine by us but the next hurdle comes, we already sold our German car and we can't get on the ferry with a dog without a car! Foot passengers are not allowed to bring a dog, even though when you drive onto the ferry, the dog is taken from the car and put in a kennel!

    So I'm grasping at straws here to see if someone is taking the ferry home possibly the 18.00 on July 2nd and has space for 2 people and a tiny dog. I would of course be willing to pay for the journey for all of us as payment for the favour.

    If we can't get someone then I'll have to fly home a day early, pick up a car, get the ferry over, pick up the missus and the dog in Paris (we'll fly Munich -> Paris), turn around and go home. Having to pay for 2 ferry trips...

    ANy takers?!

    Have you tried Brittany Ferries?

    Yup, same thing;

    We will not accept bookings:

    • On the day of departure
    • For unaccompanied pets
    For those travelling without a vehicle

    How about travelling via the UK?

    I know foot passengers can travel Calais-Dover.

    They cant do this as Irish Ferries and Stena-Line only allow pets from passengers with cars.
