Unestablished/established service

On a resignation form in my corporation there are sections for established service and unestablished service. I think that this is to do with the pension scheme. So I think that in my case unestablished service would be when I was on an agency contract - and therefore not on the pension shceme, and established service…

What happens to my pension when i leave anyway?
