Down to the last 280 people from 1250 , average stacks just over 5.5K , top 243 itm . Was just wondering if i should have played this hand differently - should i have raised pre flop , pushed on the turn ??

Raise or fold pre-flop, limping with 9's is pointless i think. No matter what you do on the flop or turn he isnt folding.

    I'd just shove pre-flop.

I'd have reraised all in on the turn.

    I newbie.

Its close between making a small raise and calling due to the size of your stack. I don't think pushing for 3.2k is too good as when you get called you are 50/50 at best. As played I would atleast raise and probably just shove. He's bet 400 into a 1k pot he's either got nothing and you are unlikely to get more out of him on the river or he has a king and is willing to get it in now he called UTG+1 so its unlikely to be a weak king that he can find a fold for.

I think folding preflop would be awful, I don't mind limping if you think the first guy is likely to limp big hands sometimes. As played I would raise the turn. It will be hard to get it in with one bet on the river, and he isn't folding a K.

i think you played it fine, just unlucky really

raise preflop, this hand is just a cooler. i probably wouldn't raise the turn in case the guy is bluffing with clubs or another PP and if he has a K he only has 4 outs and will call all in on the river even had he missed them.

If he's bluffing then he isn't going to put any more in on the river anyway so it doesn't matter and due to the fact that he called in EP its probable he has a decent king if he has one and therefore probably willing to get the chips in.

I knew the minute he called my all in on the river he had made his house with the J , i should have pushed on the river though i couldnt see him folding , think it was just one of those hands where neither of us were getting away from it , thanks for the replies :)

pushing on the turn isn't done to make him to fold, it's in an effort to get all the money in.

I raise preflop unless my image is bad.

As played, his 400 turn bet is a good price for a drawing hand which it will be often. Have you seen him bet his draws.

Raise the turn 1200 or push. Since you are committed if you bet 1200 push is possibly best ?.

You gain max v str8/Flush draws and Kings that don't house up on the river.

depending on the KJ dude, and your table image, a solid raise preflop might have gotten him off, but once the flop hit he was going nowhere...UL

    I'd just shove pre-flop.
 Very bad advice IMHO. Hope that was a joke.

Just very unlucky. As played, nothing wrong at all.
