Monitor repairs?

I'm building a new PC but don't have a monitor at the moment. Except one, a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 957P. It works ok except that the bottom third of the screen is blurry, degaussing has no effect.

Would it be worth trying to get it repaired? I'm saying this considering that it's a pretty high spec CRT capable of 2048x1536, though I'd be happy running it in 1280x960 or 1600x1200. I'm also not too willing to get an LCD due to the wonky aspect ratios and scaling.
