Just wondering what type of emulated / retro games people are playing at the moment. I'm still hooked on MAME since 2000 but at the mo' I can't stop playing Virtua Racing and Daytona USA, ah how the memories flood back!

Some of my mates can't understand how I have all these latest games but I spend more time playing arcade games. I find it funny then when I let them play and they start killing each other over who should get a go :D

    Everything really :)

Still have unfinished games for my PS1 and a whole heap of games for the Saturn. In fact I only just ordered Koudelka for the PS1 :)

I play a lot of games on the VC and 8-bit games, especially monochrome and colour GB gmaes, on the PSP. I think it's the accessiblity of the games that grabs people. I brought my Wii down to a party with college mates none of whom were gamers and after an hour everyone was clamouring for another go on bomberman. Seem to be bringing the Wii to college every 2 weeks now. On the other hand any games with 3 or more buttons don't seem to go down so well.

Also had a scart cable arrive today for my Dreamcast. Have refused to play it until I had a video cable to do the console justice. The standard RF cable is absolute rot. Saturn scart cable arriving soon as well so can finally play the bullet hell shmups and actually see the bullets.

I seen to follow a principle that if it's a good game I'll play it :)

I use emulators a lot more but I just prefer sitting in front of a TV to play my games rather than in front of the desk at my PC and the PC takes too long to boot up. Annoying brother who sits at it and looks at Bebo while listening to terrible rap music doesn't help matters.

Lol, I used to always hook up the laptop to the TV and play my retro games that way but I eventually got sick of getting up from a comfortable position and going up to the laptop repeatedly (I've a very short AV cable but I think that might change, I found a massive lentgh one in the store-room at work that I'm gonna mace :D ). That, and since I've moved accomodation all I have with me is a puny little tv and I've no PS2 pad since the console belonged to my bro. Still, the sound system more than makes up for it.

I'm currently fiddling around with a PS1 emulator and it's been a pain. 1st I downloaded it at work along with some ISOs, went home and tried it.......it needed plugins (Something I should've already known about, I know) Next day got the plugins, went home for the weekend and tried it..........video plugin wasn't included in the pack.......grrr!! Now, I know I'm gonna go home and something else is missing, like 1 byte of data or something, bah!! Really wish I didn't delete my MVSF II Dreamcast ISO either, D'oh!

i usually prefer handheld gaming to console gaming really. Ilove retro gaming as well and i also like my wii.
but the ds is the greatest handheld system (with the supercard software of course;))

My trusty Genesis (Skitchin' at the moment), it is the only thing I play really as I am trying to build up the collection of games. I have a NES also and I'm a bit stumped as to what console to get next as I haven't really played any others. A friend of mine was giving away a Sega Saturn a few years ago and no one wanted it at the time so he put the hammer through it. :) Don't remember the console though (apart from the odd controllers).

Soul Calibur on Dreamcast ... love that game ... also in a run of co-op play on House of the Dead 2, also on Dreamcast ... great game for mindless shootin' fun and these light-gun games play really well on the bigger screen TV's that are more common these days.

Still love GT3 on the PS2, that gets a run at least one a week. Finally, the Sonic games on the Megadrive.

I'm really old, so I still have a hankerin' for Spectrum, C64 and Amiga games ... the Atari ST never did it for me first time round. Due to a lack of space, I can't have all my 8 & 16 bit consoles setup, so I get my retro kicks on a GP2X handheld ... plays all the older games really well.

I have an Xbox which hosted Mame ... but I never really warmed to it, and once the thrill of Halo 1 & 2 wore off, I packed it off to the attic. Might dig it out soon if time permits.

Haven't seen anything yet on the PS3 or Xbox360 that makes me want to shell out the big bucks.

I'm mainly running arcade games at the mo but I've probably givin just about every emulator released a go at some stage. The snes, CPS1 and CPS2 emulators on my PSP get a lot of use on my way to work too.

My games room is undergoing a facelift and so access to my archive of retro goodness is restricted, however the PS2, 360, Wii and DS all get a good workout. If I could get at the DC right now I'd be getting stuck into a few things I "aquired" like Radilgy, Karous and StreetFighter III 3rd strike.

Mame has spiked in popularity lately since I got my GP2x, and I've been messing about with a Ps1 emulator too after remembering many happy times playing Jumping Flash!. I've always got time for Snes/megadrive/Gameboy/GBA emulation though.

If I had a working telly there'd be a bit of Gamecube action going on as well, but there's the breaks...

I've started into Liberty City Stories on the Ps2. When I first played it I thought it was horrible, but after a few missions it's fun I suppose. I'm bored with Animal Crossing which is unfortunate, so my DS is lonely.

On the retro side, I've been playing a class little game called the Twisted Tales of Spike McFang on the SNES, it's really great actually!

I'm into a dangerous DOS retro craze at the moment. Hope it wears off sometime soon! ;)

Normally, its the C64 (fed by Lemon's monthly game compo) and then the Amiga (setting up the workbench and installing the odd game on the virtual amiga drive - anything from Apiya to VistaPro).

Giving Mame another look with the recent Bubble Bobble game. I think we should do that monthly here. Maybe we could open a new thread on voting for a game for the next month while playing the current game.

yeah but its not a console though ;)?

I'm another for the "bit of everything" camp - been playing a fair bit of exhumed on the saturn as well as sega rally ,Cyborg justice on the megadrive and Master of Darkness on the SMS.
will probably be tucking into some C64 goodness after being reminded of it by the recent thread here too :)
