Does anyone know if there is any sites you can buy an adapter off other than airsoft-innovations? They're out of stock for the last good while, and my GBB has been sitting in my room for the past 3 weeks unused! It's really annoying me! Help will be appreciated.

Thanks. How long did it take yours to come?

BTW, do you know if the Bell M9 can have accessories? Like a laser or something like that?

cant remember if the bell has a rail on the front, but since it's identical to the hfc, then it should, you can get things that mount to rails on pistols, however currently it's a grey area on whether or not sticking a laser/tac light on an airsoft gun is legal in this country...

Yes the bell has a rail on the front.

From what Sparks was saying, mounting a laser on is illegal. However, I don't think there would be a problem with a tac light. Lasers are mentioned specifically.

If your Bell is a pistol then I don't think a red dot sight is really recommended. You can get small Tac Lights which are essentially torches for the rail on the pistol instead. RSOV and E-Hobby stock them for a few quid.

You're probably right, the blowback wouldn't help either I suppose.

But I'm trying to find cheap accessories off this particular seller so that he'll combine shipping. Don't want to go ordering off a seperate buyer or site. Any suggestions?

Edit: Do ye think I'd be safe ordering a laser? I don't go to skirmishes or anything, never bring the gun out of the house and would only be using it round the house. I know it may be illegal, but I wouldn't be causeing trouble or anything like that. What do ye think?

the only answer you will get is the law is the law. .. be it in your house or outside, you are breaking the law and i dont think you will get anyone here to say anything else..

    Lasers are mentioned specifically.

Does this mean the little laser mounted on the battery pack of my M4 is illegal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

actually probably not, since the law mentions that the laser is illegal if it is a component of a firearm, yours is obviously not a component of a firearm since it contains a battery compartment obviously intended for uses with an airsoft gun...

(although that's just my opinion and not to be taken as legal advice)

cool, dont use it really and the little batteries for it are dead anyway:)

I know it's breaking the law (is it really?) but that's not the question. I probably won't order it just to be safe.

Why is having a laser on an airsoft gun illegal? It can't cause any harm, at least no more than the gun itself. I don't understand it. It's pointless and serves no purpose.

Its a grey area really. Because the lasers we use are made intended to be used on Airsoft guns not firearms...catch 22 cos they *could* in theory be fitted to a firearm...but then again so could a knife, so its a bit weird.

Sparks was saying it's the fact that they have a picatinny rail that makes them a "component part of a firearm".

    Odd law indeed.

The law goes on about all kind of firearm attachments that would be illegal, like night-vis scopes and stuff because the only people who would need them would be paramillitarys and the army who have their own laws. As regards to a knife being attachable and thus illegal. Think that would only be if it had clips, rails specifically for attachment.

It is illegal but its unlikely to "cause trouble" and low power laserrs dont need licenses or anything like that i dont think. The red dot you linked is for the top not the bottom.

you will get no arguement from me on the last point dude, sounds like its a hang over from the dark days....

i am well and truly pissed...i wanted a green laser on mine ala sg1...and for the most part its just looks, jeasus, i have 600 round mag, so do i aim and go all 2 round shots as if i am some player in the special forces, or blast away until i hit something..methinks its the latter...laser or not. :D

I have a green laser and let me tell you, they are way to powerful to be mounting on anything!
