    Hi Guys,

2day i started hearing a ringing noise from my sky digibox. Its connected to my Sony Bravia LCD via a scart lead, it wasn't making any noise until 2day. Any you guys ever experienced this?? Anyone know what it might be? I ran a dvd after i heard the noise from the sky channels, no prob with the tv.

    Thanks

same thing happened to me recently with my sky+ box (a pace i think)
a high pitched buzzing noise. sadly i have my sky+ box over 2 years, so i will be keeping an eye out for upgrade to sky hd offers

    Thanks Guys,

I've had it around 10 months, its infrequent but still very annoying. I'm wondering will sky replace it as the box is less than 12 months old? The trouble is that it might not replicate the problem when the Sky Guy arrives.

Just to clarify: Is the noise physically coming from the box, or the TV when you're watching TV?

It seems to be coming from the box but when i increase the volume from the tv, the ringing noise gets louder. Its a high pitched noise that really gets on my nerves. As we speak its not occurring, I'll just have to keep an eye on it I guess. If it keeps happening I'll call sky and get something done about it.

Ring whoever installed you, sky or independent, you should get the box replaced no bother asuming you're still within the warranty period.
    Dont leave it any longer.
I've had to replace some of the older "whistling" tompson boxes before.

Thanks man, I' think I'll do that. I wouldn't like the warranty to run out and be left with a piece of whistling crap. :)

for this and other digibox faults check out satcure for technical info, repair kits. The power supply seems to be a common source of problems especially in Grundigs. Thomson took them over
The following page refers to various Grundig + Thomson models
