Are better CAS times worth it?

The diference in price between 4,4,4,12 and 5,5,5,15 can be almost double.

Are faster CAS timings really worth it?

In real world application testing does it make that much difference in the overall workd ?

    For example:
I can get my Dual core 2.4 CPU up to 3.6Ghz on 6,6,6,18 timings.
If I were to splash put and get memory that could manage 4,4,4,12 is there going to be any measurable speed improvement in the overall system ?

    Thanks

Very little. Not usually worth the money.
