I didnt think it was two bad, one or two hard parts (q 3+4 C)

    Only two theorems- suprised me!

It was VEEERY nice! I just might scrape that A!

One or two hard qs yes, but overall not bad.

Nothing that was suppose to come up came up - so it isn't pertictable.

    Lovely theorems!

Yeah was easy enuf except for 3c and 4c...easy theorems and area and volume was sooo easy!!

Yeah that was really easy! Especially compared to paper 1! (But we shouldn't say it was easy or they'll mark it hard! wink wink) But Jaysus, I am so pissed off, On 6 C where it asks you to complete the frequency table, I did it on the actual script and not into the answer book! And I only realized afterwards when I was going through it!

    LOL, badd mistake!

I only had trouble with 1/2 minor parts - and didn't have time to write "frequency" and "number" thing on the Ogive.. Examiner had to ask me twice to stop writing :D

I know, how many marks do you guys think I lost for that? I did really well in the rest anyway and only need a C i guess

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,476 ✭✭✭highlydebased

Its probably a blunder I would think. At most, 4 marks. I wish they would print on the paper "Please do not forget to label the axis' on graph!":D

ah, was quite happy woth it, and defo the theorems, they came up in the mocks too i think!!id say somewhere about 285 marks i think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,476 ✭✭✭highlydebased

I would say I got around 230 or so...

What do you need overall to do higher next year? A C is it?

you can do whatever level you want next year, its act illegall i think for a teacher to stop you doing a certain level!however, they may refuse to let you into a class some schools do stream peolpe, my school just asks you what you want to do, even if you did ordinary, you can do higher for leaving cert!! depends on the school i suppose

It depends on your school really and the way the work out honours and pass classes. The average mark is probably a C, so I would imagine that would get you a place in an honours class. Anything lower and you may be fighting for a place in a higher level class.

I don't think there is any requirement by the department for a certain mark to be obtained

Indeed it was, I was expecting a rocket-science level paper, Waheyyy easier

I wasn't sure what the mode was on 6b(iii). So I wrote 7, crossed it out and then wrote 3.

It was pretty easy other then that. I might have neglected 4(c) a tiny bit but I'm hoping it's all enough to boost my grade up to A.

    i don't know how i did it.....but i somehow completely messed up co-ordinate geometry. otherwise..easy enuf.

I got somewhere in the 230 mark without giving myself a few attempts, So realistically I would give myself 250.

Way easier alright, not sure if it'll be goood enough to bring up my paper 1 to an A though, i'd say i got around 275 to 280

it was much easier than paper 1!! i did soo bad in that so i needed like an a in this paper to get a good grade im not sure but i might have scraped the "a" did everyone presumer in the building question that the angle was 90degrees? and i didnt get the other geometry angles type question either

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17 stevegalway

    ya, it was 90degrees.

that was such an easy paper!! co-ordinate geometry was soooo easy. as was q1 nd q5 q6 q4 and q3 ...lol . i couldnt get q4ciii..did any1 get it???
Overall i got around 230 in paper 1 and 285 in pp2 soo ill prob just scrape an a bearing in mind that paper 1 will be marked easy

I don't think they'll mark it any easier after all considering that this paper kind of counter-balances it and how the papers will be marked overall as one unit (I'd imagine)

For some reason in 4c, I acted upon the assumption that e was the centre of the circle so my congruent triangles idea was proved to be SAS rather than ASA like it should've been. Still, I think in all I scraped the 507 needed for an A.

Very pleased with paper 2 - for 4c) I proved that the 2 triangles were congruent. Angle c and angle a were equal because they stood on the same arc and angle b and angle d stood on the same arc. Finally |ab| = |cd| because they told you that in the question therefore they were congruent due to the ASA rule.

Then for the next question I matched the lines up because they were congruent to prove that |ad| = |bc|

Feel confident I got the A

I'm aiming to get C so I can do higher in the leaving. I think I got a B but I can shake the feeling I failed.... Just one of those unfounded worries I guess but it'll be there til september:(

    what Theorms came up?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 24 karen-xxxxx

    so happy with this paper.
    id say i got 290. maybe 280.
    hopefully:)

    what Theorms came up?

One was the opposite sides of opposite angles are equal in measure and the other was the angle at the centre of a circle is twice that of the angle at the circumference standing on the same arc

god, that second thereom is a mouth full. :p
