    Im due to pick this up today for extreme pain I suffer, anyone have info on it, effects etc. thanks.

    Why don't you speak to the pharmacist when you're picking it up? They'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have about it. And have a read of the Patient Information Leaflet that comes with it. Don't be alarmed if it mentions lots of side effects though, companies are legally bound to include any they might cause. Your pharmacist will know the ones to look out for

    DHC (dihydrocodeine) is an opioid pain killing drug. I suppose the best person to ask about the risks versus benefits of taking such a drug, would be the practitioner who prescribed it to you.
    There is some information on Wikipedia about DHC at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrocodeine . Not all of this information will relate to you or your condition but might provide some general information about DHC.
    As AngelDelight says, a pharmacist would also be able to give you sound advice, so talk to them when they're dispensing it to you and give the patient information leaflet a good reading over as well.
