I'm not familiar with either of these AEG's but I can give you one piece of advice, don't get the one with the silencer unless the inner barrel extends up to near the tip of the silencer or if not unless you intend to put a larger inner barrel in. When the outer barrel is much longer then the inner barrel the BB's will strike the sides of the silencer reducing muzzle velocity and creating terrible accuracy.

Personally, I like the first one. It's a little bit different, and that's good.

Hesitated *really* long and hard about the CQB you're looking at, before going with the M4A1 version (same by DBoys, full metal). But I just hate that silencer and, wanting to take it off, I just coulnd't find info about actual barrel length (w/out silencer). In the end I thought I would mod the M4A1 into the CQB version later if I want to ;)

erm... gotta disagree with you on that one, use the silencer on my p90 every now and again and it doesnt reduce velocity, range or accuracy at all, plus it actually does function as a silencer, you still hear the gearbox noise, but there is less of a snap to the sound and from a distance is much quieter.

of course this does depend on the silencer actually being a working type and not just for show, the working ones have foam inside the silencer, which dampens the noise

Oh and personally i'd go for the one without the silencer, dont like silencer's on m4's, but then again, that's personal preference

I think they look great with silencers but not if the thing is half way inside the flippin thing

And scope does your troy style silencer do anything?

Probably because your P90 is a TM which means it has a good inner barrel. If that particular clone has a decent barrel it probably won't be a problem but if it doesn't then forget it. My clone FN SCAR is a perfect example. When I put a silencer on it the performance dropped to a point where it was useless in CQB even.

how very odd.... stock TM barrel is about 6.14 iirc, not exactly precision, but they are decent quality, some of the clones actually come with tightbore barrels, but with all clones, they require a damn good clean when they come out of the box

Very true and in all fairness the JLS SCAR barrel is the worst I've ever seen on a clone. You have to see it in person to really know how bad it is. /puke

Hmm, I was about to order the DBOYS M4 (Metal) with the Silencer. From another site, the review mentions the barrel goes all the way to the end of the silencer, which surprised them (in a good way). Cant find the site now of course...

You mention that clones require a good clean before first use. As a noob, there does not appear to be cleaning rods/etc on the rsov site. Any suggestions?

Also, my mate is gettting the AGM M14 from rsov, and wants to get a scope also. Anyone see/hold/use the M14 or can recommend a reasonable scope?

    Cheers,
    Ciaran

I've tried the AGM M14, one of my teammates has it. Very solid body and a good performer, one of the better clones out there.

Try eHobbyasia for scopes. A good selection at low prices.

I have the AGM M14 and I love it.
Its fairly accurate and fires pretty close to the 1J mark.
Its built well and the sound when it cocks is just sweet.

I got a scope for it, I think its this one

I can post up some pictures tomorrow if you want

pretty much every airsoft gun comes with a cleaning rod in the box, just get a bit of cloth (I use a J-Cloth or paper towels) and cut a strip that will fit in through the little loop at the end of the rod and wrap around it a couple times, then make sure the hopup on your gun is turned all the way off and spray some silicone oil down the barrel, use the cleaning rod to ram down the barrel and clean it. You'll probably need to use several strips of cloth to get it clean. If you can take the barrel out of the aeg it helps too since you can look through it and see how clean (or not) it is, but if not then just keep cleaning until the strip of cloth comes back clean every time.

Thanks for the info, sorry for jumping on the thread by the way!

I think he will just be getting the cheap scope from rsov, and the scope mount too. Expensive items come later when you just gotta upgrade....

    Thanks again,
    Ciaran
