    Hi,

I was just wondering if an engineering student was working in a engineering consultancy for the summer is the employer entitled to pay the student minimum wage(€8.30) or can they pay below this since the student has very little experience in an engineering field. The student in question is a 2nd year student studying a degree at university.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

See here for more information, especially with regard to the sub-minimum wage and trainee conditions.
