    I found that with a few things that I have purchased domain names online
    subscription stuff etc.

    When it comes to renewals, if you let it lapsed instead of renewing on time,
    they will come back to you with a cheaper offer than the standard price.

    I also found this with free trials, if you don't take up the product they
    will offer it to you at a reduction to the ticket price.

    Worth a try if renewals on time are not vital.

    Yeah, I wrote to NTL to cancel my sub.
    They were on the phone to me a few days later, offering all sorts of discounts etc.

    My box packed up recently, the second box in 5 years. They swore I had to pay 100 euro to get it fixed. I rang the cancellation dept and they gave me a new box with free installation to keep me.
