Touchy subject mate. The fact is that using it here without a licence is illegal even if you do get it in. Unfortunatly rsov will not turn down the spring for you. Gunner airsoft used to do spring downgrades but then stopped doing them. Maybe he does it agian now but I couldn't say.

Technically it is over the limit but it only really fires 350 which i believe beds down to legal after a few hundred shots.

Great reviews everywhere. Supposedly bes clone and briiliant price. Talk to keith and he might put a few mags through it for you, hes really helpfull.:D

Another thing you might be able to get him to do is leave the spring retracted over night. That should drop it by 20-30 fps at least ;)

was talking to nonex about those yesterday, he was saying that initially when the spring has been relaxed for a while, you'll get 350fps out of them, but when you fire a couple hundred rounds through it, it drops back down to 320-330, however, technically, the 350fps is above 1 Joule and therefore against the law to import and the forum charter to discuss...

it's a dodgy subject tbh.. and a very difficult one to advise on...

This is another reason why I added that to the charter. Those JG guns might seem okay because they're not too far over 1 joule. However, they're illegal to import and illegal to own here. You can't even license one as it's fully automatic.

Giving advice on how to import something like that has legal implications. Doing it on a public forum which is already under legal threats is NOT wise. Therefore it's just a no no.

"Ah sure go on, it's only a little over, it will bed down" comments won't be tolerated. Might seem harsh but it's illegal and we just can't risk it here.

Its a pity the limit isnt slightly higher...Great value gun.

You could always ask the seller to shoot a few thousands round through it, and then chrono it to ensure it's below 1 joule. Assuming of course that they do 'bed down' at all.

To stay 100% legal though, I would recommend always getting the retailer to downgrade the AEG to 1joule or below before shipping.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that. Firing 1000 rounds through a gun straight could break it. Doing it over a period of time is going to take too long. Not worth it for the seller.

Replacing the spring is the only way to go.

Email RSOV and ask him, Simple as that.

The method I outlined in my above post works and Keith wouldn't have to fire 1 BB. As long as he chrono'd it after and made sure it was firing 1 joule or less before he shipped it there would be no legal problem.

er... allowing the spring to relax will increase the fps, no? the spring relaxes and expands, and then for the first few compressions after that, has more power than usual?

He said leave the spring compressed overnight. That would decrease the power alright. I've heard of people accidentally leaving bolt action rifles cocked and ruining springs.

hmmm... i misread that retracted = uncompressed in my mind???

but anyway, yea, keeping it compressed will drop the fps, but by how much is unknown and if it was during transit etc... could end up damaging the spring, although doubtful

Retract = to pull something back...as in pulling back a spring...?! Crazy fool! :p

Having it retracted in transit would be a bad idea. Not only could it damage the spring as you said, but if by some freak chance it didnt work you'd be importing something over the limit.

you could do it ona a system where you leave ot compressed for an hour, chrono it, leave it, etc

How much is this airsoft over the limit? Was thinking of getting exact same gun from RSOV. Dang.
