First PS3 ingame freeze

    Well last night playing Oblivion I experienced my first PS3 nasty.

    I went up to a char and was about to speak to them when it froze.!

    Could'nt do anything with the controller or remote, even popping out the disk did nothing.

    Eventually I had to power it off on the panel, after I powered it back on the controller 4 LEDs were blinking and not responding, same with the remote.

    Had to power on with teh panel button and then everything returned to normal.

    I do remember hearing the fan just click off before it froze, but after it came back on I made sure the fan kicked in again to be sure it was not busted.

    So far so good since then...phew! :)

    So my bad experience was actually a reasonably painless experience - certainly unlike any MickeySoft issues that crop up on my PC! *coughs*

    How long had you been playing for 20 mins an hour 2 hours or more? Strange haven't had a lockup myself or read anywhere about them.

    Mine sometimes freezes while im connecting my BT headset and it is soo annoying I have to turn it off and on.

    I wouldn't worry, Oblivion isn't exactly the most bug free of games.

    had probably been playing 1.5hrs at the time. Don't have any bluetooth equip I would have been using other then controller.

    Yeah probably a once off, but I did notice a freeze watching a DVD (probably about 10 seconds) I was putting that down to the Dual-Layer switchover but that is generally not noticeable i thought.

    I'll monitor and see how it goes from now.
