Getting from Grenoble airport to Lyon

    Hello,

If one wishes to get to Lyon on the cheap, they might well fly with Ryanair to Grenoble, a mere hour to the south (Ryanair don't fly direct to St. Exupery in Lyon).

    Has anybody done this?

I'm looking for info on buses and trains from Grenoble to Lyon. I have found details of a bus that goes from Grenoble centre to St. Exupery, and I presume one could get a regional train (Ten or Tioz) centre to centre. But I'm ideally looking for something that would not require first going into Grenoble, i.e. it would be convenient if one could take a bus from Grenoble airport to Lyon city centre.

I just got back from Grenoble a couple of days ago. You can get a bus from right outside the airport to Lyon for €20, although it does go through Grenoble first. The airport's in the middle of nowhere really so I'd say that's your easiest route to Lyon.

cheers, €20 eh? Not cheap, but when ticket from Dublin cost €0.01 + €26 in taxes/charges, it averages out at a great deal :D
