    Hi Guys,
    I'm relateively new here.
I joined two weeks ago to get some help specing out a new PC.

Now I have it and I need some more help overclocking it right.

It's a Asus P5B Delux with OZC Gold 6400 RAM and an Intel 2.4Ghz Dual core.

Video card is a cheap one cos it's for Photoshop and not games.
    Gainward Bliss 8500GT PCX

Best I can get is just 3Ghz, by setting the CPU clock to 330.
After that it just craps out.

What CPU speed should I expect to get and just could I achieve it?

PCmark05 result is 6807. Is that ok or is this PC capable of better ?

I don't expect a simple answer, but any advice is welcome at this stage.

    Thanks,
    Ray

well try rasining the voltage of ur cpu to 1.4 or so.

try uping the voltage of ur chipset

and try uping the voltage of ur ram to 2.1(may not be right for ur type of ram so make shure)

this should help you out allout.

CPU-Z says my CPU voltage is already at 1.41v How much higher is safe?

The RAM OZC Gold can take up to 2.1v. So I will try that.

    up the chipset also.

1.5 for the cpu is fine but may be alittle hot try using orthos to test.

One of my OCZ sticks is faulty,(just running on 3 of them right now).

So I'm going to RMA the lot back for a better brand.
The OCZ Gold were on sepecial offer at 204 euro for 4 GB, but I think I know why now!

Any suggestions on good overclocking RAM ?

    Thanks,
    Ray

    Thanks Awhir,
Corsair seem like a good brand, what about...
    Crosair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5
    Corsair Dominator TWIN2X6400C4D 2048MB,
    Or for faster RAM...
    Corsair Dominator TWIN2X8500C5D 2048MB

Any benifit from using 8500 when overclocking????

    I cam accross a E6600 overclocking guide
    Here: http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/HOWTO-Overclock-C2Q-Quads-C2D-Duals-Guide-v1-ftopict240001.html

Followed it and manged to clock the cpu to 3.5Ghz by relaxing the memory timings to 6 6 6 18

This seems to indicate that it's the memory that's the bottleneck here !!!

I'm definitely going to change my memory while I can.

So I still need some memory suggestions please.....

    Thanks
