AFAIK this is the same gearbox as the SEAT Cordoba SDI and Polo 1.9D, this might be easier to google

Not familiar with that car, but most gearboxes have two plugs on the side, one located very low to completely drain the oil, and one about 1/3rd up from the bottom to fill it. You fill until it starts to come out the filling hole, assuming the car is on level ground. HTH.

Do not under any circumstances follow the above advice. Too much oil is just as damaging as too little. Find out the exact literage, and only use that.

Many gearboxes are designed to be at the correct level when its level with the filler hole, ditto final drives.

    Mike is correct.

I should have stated more clearly that the filling plug is usually located at the same height as the correct oil level, so that it is difficult or impossible to overfill the gearbox. Not every box is designed this way, but most are.

Which is exactly the reason not to follow that advice OP, there is a chance your engine is different. Phone a Seat garage and find out for yourself.
