The new film by David Slade (Hard Candy) is an adaptation of Steve Nile's comic book, 30 Days of Night. It's a pretty good (if somewhat simple when it comes to story) comic book, and should make for a decent enough film if handled properly.

Anyway, check out the poster and teaser here-

I can't wait. Superb story, and looking at that trailer, I have all the faith in the world in Sam Raimi and David Slade in making a faithful adaption. The vampires looked spot on.

It looks like my kind of movie! I hadn't heard of it before but I might check out the graphic novel. I like the premise and the vampires look brilliant. I hope this is as fresh as the trailer makes it look!

Hmms. I liked the original comic because I love Ben Templesmith's artwork, but s has already been pointed out the story is rather simple. This should, in theory, make for an easier transition to the big screen but I've got my doubts about Sam Raimi.... I'm not gone at all on the Spiderman trilogy, and I'm not particularly convinced that the film will keep the age rating it'll need to remain true to the source material, or that he'll do a decent enough job at creating the atmosphere the film will need.

Trailer looks decent enough, but over the last 5 years I've grown to distrust trailers so that's not much good to me. Would be great to see another decent comic-to-film transition in the mainstream though.

(I've just thought of something which someone with video editing skills may yet put together : "300 Days Of Night". "THIS. IS. ALASKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!")

Sam Raimi is only producing though, it's David Slade who's directing. He did the exceptionally good Hard Candy, so I've a lot more faith that it's going to be a good film, as Slade has displayed an incredibly good sense of tension and really making his audience wince.

Totally agree. Hard Candy was an excellent movie.
