Now that Mark III of www.zooomr.com is (sort of) up and running, it's becoming a very attractive alternative to flickr. Most importantly it's got free unlimited storage, but also because it's got quite a lot of very nice features in addition to pretty much everything Flickr has. Anyway, if anybody's using it, please post the URL to your profile page so I can add people as contacts... I have no friends!

My profile page is: http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/26539@Z01/ if anybody is interested.

I've been considering taking the Flickr plunge, there's just something about flickr I don't quite like. Came across zooomr recently but didn't spend much time looking at it. Tempting tho...

Myself, I love Flickr. Probably because there's so much about my first love, Polaroid and instant photography on there, both photos and forums. Boards.ie is great, but there's no instant photography here :( It's not an Irish thing....

I looked in Zooomer even uploaded some photos but it couldn't hold a candle to Flickr. I've now removed all my pics from it.

Almost as slow as Deviant art to load, instant no, no in my eyes. Feels a bit on the clunky side tbh. Could be just launch issues though.

Some great shots in your stream though Ponder, well worth a lookie!

they seem to have ripped their general design from flickr. i can't imagine flickr being too happy with that.

    Looks like a friendly rivalry:

Tho they did spell Flickr wrong...

The site seems to be working again now, it was down for a couple of days. They have been trying to launch 'Mark III' for ages, and they seem to be having major problems with it still - a lot of stuff isn't working. I probably should have mentioned it when it had finished these teething problems!

I think that if/when everything they say is working correctly, there will be very little that Flickr has that they haven't, except of course for the all important critical mass, and possibly the rights to the design! (it really is very similar, isn't it?) They want to act as a stock agency as well as a photo-sharing site, and while I'm pretty sceptical of their abilities to get that up and running, it has the potential to be very interesting.

It does rather seem like the poor relation of Flickr. Lots of similar design elements too. Smacks of "Jeez, that flickr thing was a good idea. Let's copy it!".

Still no groups though. Feels more like Bebo with pictures.

Finally decided to give zooomr a shot. I know its just a Flickr clone but I'm an awkard fecker anyway.
I haven't uploaded much yet tho:
