I recently purchased an Iriver Clix 2GB MP4 player and in the accompanying online music guide there is an offer of 100 free songs from emusic.com. I went on the website and the 'catch' is that you have to enter your credit card details and cancel the monthly subscription when the 'free' period expires. Has anyone signed up, downloaded the 100 free songs and then cancelled prior to the subscription starting?

Can anone recommend a good value (or free) 'pay-as-you-go' download site?
