I'm staying in Woodside at the moment with my mates and we are wondering where are the spots that alot of J1ers are heading in Woodside or the city itself.

Most of the pubs that we have come across in Woodside don't really have a young vibe, although they are very friendly joints.

Where in Queens or Manhattan should we be heading to, and on what nights.

    Cheers for any advice provided.

The Playwright in Times Square is nice as is The Pig and Whistle.
If you're looking for something a little different try the UCB Theater. There's improv comedy every night and it's pretty cheap (between $5 and $8) and it is fantastic.
    I've been twice already.

yeah maggie maes is pretty dam good but i think it was either wednesday or thursday it was kicking. ****in' mental with a live band. i lived with the guy directly above this post (we lived on 66th street) and our regular haunt was saints and sinners. it's not exactly young persons pub but the bar staff are really nice (especially angela, oh angela!) there's a club called lit downtown. can't for the life of me remember where but it's pretty good. check for a website or something. think it's just before the brooklyn bridge stop. just make sure and get some sort of a night out in madison square garden no matter what's on!

Go to "Off The Wagon" on Bleeker street in Manhattan. It's fantastic!
