I'm buying a laptop for university and was wondering if people could give me feedback on whether this laptop is decent for playing games?

    Processer:
    Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core T2080 Processor (1.73GHz,533MHz,1MB L2 cache)

    Windows Vista home premium

    1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x512]
(I'm considering adding more memory gradually)I already have a 512 stick

    80GB (5400rpm) SATA Hard Drive

    256MB ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1400 HyperMemory™ graphics card

Will these specs be ok for playing Oblivion at mid-level settings?

    Many thanks

    CIan

dump vista for a start...a load of liathrodi. did i spell that right?

more RAM... good idea for when vista actually works

hard drive... do you have lots of mp3?

video card... im no gaming guru. 256 RAM is plenty for everyday stuff at least

    Sorry,another question.

What exactly does processor speed do?
Does it have a large effect on games?

It's how fast the processor can process information, how fast it can do sums, basically.

Generally speaking nowadays, it doesn't. It's all about the graphics card.

I think oblivion uses a fair bit of the processor. Probably all that ai.
