    Depends on the engine - some can be easily got at, some not so easily... They're usually on the top of the engine under the inlet manifold, but haven't done too much on that end of things myself so the details are a bit hazy. Fuel filter's easy to change, but can end up with fuel all over the place. If it's a petrol engine, depressurise the fuel system by pulling the fuse out for the fuel pump and starting the car, running it until it cuts out. Then the fuel filter will usually be easily changed - though its position in the car varies greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer. Just be careful of puddles of petrol cos it'll still be full of fuel...
