Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but DIY was the closest match i could find...

Most people have a unit inside their front door with a lamp etc... on it. I was wondering what stuff people put IN their units, assuming they have shelves or drawers in it? I have had a SuperValu Glendale unit there for ages but it just got filled with bits of everything. Finally though, we have managed to replace it with a smaller but far nicer unit. I dont want it to get stuffed with random crap so has anyone any suggestions as to what to put in it? Tell me what you have in your hall unit :).

BTW, im in a battle with my wife about the Golden Pages and the Phone Book, i dont want them in it as they are huge and you can just ring 11811 if you need a number, so they are off limits :D.

I know its a weird request but i think it could be very useful depending on what is in it...

    Thanks in advance...

    Glendale Head

Have you any idea what you are paying for 11811? Of course you need the phone books, thats assuming the phone is in the hall too.... Otherwise you could put in some boiled sweets to suck while you are waiting for interlude music on the phone, and possibly a book of crosswords and a pencil. A packet of biscuits and a bottle of water in case you are overcome with hunger on the way to the front door. Some 50ps for people who come rattling cans at the door. Its a handy place to store car keys too, saves burglars ransacking the house. I'm sure there are lots more things you could usefully store there if you really get thinking... (AH possibly :) )
