Boards.ie Virgin - I would like some help regarding Kerry Foods Charleville. I have just had an interview with them for a positon in their Accounts Dept. I have been offered the position but would just like to get an idea from people who work there or have worked there on what it's like.

Any comments would be appreciated because I don't know anyone who works there and the company itself will always give a great impression of the company but you can just never tell.

    Thanks,

Knew a trainee accountant guy there and he worked God's hours and then some.

I don't want to say anything negative about the great international success story that is Kerry Foods but it's common knowledge that they are a bunch of slave-drivers. I don't know, I've never worked for them but I'm just telling you what I heard (oh, and by the way, Charleville is a kip).

Charleville isn't a hotspot of activity - Kerry comes from an agricultural background and that work-hard ethos is present there.

I'd phrase it slightly less diplomatically. ;)

Absolutely spot on. It's not that they're slave drivers, it's that everyone is expected to "earn their money". A bit like Lidl etc.
