As this seems to be the home for all things xenophobic, what do people here, especially the ugly ones, think about this article:

"Children of Lithuanian immigrants in the Irish Republic feel unsafe and some have been beaten up for being more attractive than their Irish peers, according to a government watchdog from the Baltic state.

Rimante Salasevicuite, the Lithuanian Ombudsman for Children, made the claims after visiting Ireland last week to study the conditions in which an estimated 120,000 of her countrymen and women live."

I was in Riga (Latvia) last weekend... The women over there are unbelievable. I am not someone who normally leers, but I have never seen anything like it... They put a lot of Irish girls to shame.

I don't understand it at all. The Eastern European girls are lovely, but the blokes are rotten. Really odd and out of proportion looking. They have big balloon heads and small skinny bodies. And hairy backs. Probably.

You have to admit the foreign girls are nice. I think overall you can see how people would be jealous. but its hardly a widespread problem. We are very insular and insecure though, even if they didnt look like they just came off the catwalk, I think we would still probably give them a hard time.


I found this bit of the Times article interesting.

Emmmm I don't think it has anything to do with abuse scandals, especially in a country where people expect scandals, the same way they expect it to rain tomorrow. I think it has more to do with our obsession with money/status/property, we simply don't have anytime to fit in that other God.

Am I the only person on boards who has encountered/worked with literally hundreds of foreign women, and have therefore had any stereotypes banished from my head?

Slovaks/Czechs- beat our women, no question. Hostel extras the lot of them

Poles/Lithuanians etc- A roughly equal proportion of stunners to us, give or take. Less fat E European women than here, but facially we are about level

Italy and Spain- wouldnt touch the majority of them with yours pal.

As for the article, fat bitches always like to row pretty girls at age 14 odd. Nationality doesnt really come into it.

Oh come on, the article has "troll" written all over it. They may as well have printed "lawl, look at the durty paddies" as a title. I admit I'm saddened by it more than anything else. I had hoped our nearest neighbour, with whom we share a common language, had gotten over the fact that the bleddy natives had figured out which was the business end of the gatling cannon.
