Battery (charger) problem?

My car has not been used for a few months and wouldn't start so I used jump leads, which worked fine. Took her out of the garage to give her a good cleaning before using jump leads to get her back into the garage.

I then took out the battery and connected it to a charger. Just connecting the clips gave no lights on the charger, while also connecting the power indicated a fully charged battery. Is the battery charger broken, or is the battery too flat to be registered and thus fooling the charger?

Yeah it may be too flat to make any sense, sometimes the needles flick about whilst connecting. Make sure there is enough water in the battery, and that the caps are off, then leave it on slow charge for as long as possible !

Battery could have a dead cell, you can still push/jump start but it won't ever hold enough charge to start the car with, get a cheap multimeter and test it,
it should be around 12 - 13ish volts but with a dead cell it will be down around 10.
