This is a RickRoll...

It's all over 2+2 at the minute, it seems nearly every link is actually a Link to a Youtube Video of Rick Astley. Some were funny at first but it's so old now it's just plain annoying.

I am delighted I have no idea what the hell this is about, and I would be delighted if some of these more stupid terms that are prevalent in 2+2 are kept away from here. I won't lock this thread, much as I would like to, as there would not doubt be some whinging, and also since Dev and Ste have seen fit to post without locking. I would just like to add with my mod hat firmly off, that these threads are the pits.

"ship it!"
"pwned"

The fad started off with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbaTur4A1OU Duckroll. Duckroll was superseeded by Rick Astley, but the 'roll' part stuck around, hence Rickroll. The Rickroll itself started on the GameFAQs World of Warcraft forum.

How I wish I didn't know these things.

With respect, "pwned" is one of the finest neologisms of the past couple of years and should be used liberally. My favourite use of it was in the always hilarious comments on Youtube. It was on the footage Saddam's hanging. "pwned" was the 1st comment I read.

I love reading the comments on any political footage on Youtube. Several people were writing comments about Saddam's role in the regional politics of the Middle East and acting as a buffer to Iran, the next comment was... "F*ck all Muslims!"
