Heading off to Crete in 2 weeks, and myself anf my fiancee would appreciate alternative options from the "get drunk" lifestyle. Thanks.

Really depends where you're going to in Crete. It's a big place.
We went hiking in Samaria (http://www.explorecrete.com/hiking/samaria.html). Don't be fooled by what anyone tells you, it's a serious hike and you should have some hiking boots although people do do the walk in sandshoes/sandles. That said it's gorgeous. Also Knossos (http://www.interkriti.org/knossos/) just outside of Iraklion is interesting.
