    Hi
Were converting the attic and I was wondering whats best in regards to the heating of the room.
    1. Keep the existing insulation and floor over.
    2. remove the existing insulation and let the heat move up through the house
The attic will be insulated with kingspan or T9 on the roof and insulated in the storage area floor and roof.
any ideas before the attic floor goes down. Keep or remove.
    thanks in advance
    Mia (lazydaze)

    Hi Dave
We removed the insulation from the floor walking area not the storage area as we were told it would create a thermo effect keep the heat in the summer and keep the cold in the winter. While another said keep the insulation as the room should be able to be ventilated in its own right in summer and the rad should be sufficient to heat in the winter. But my own feelings were to let the space breath with the rest of the house. the storage area has insulation on the floor and on the back of the partitions and the whole roof is insulated with T9 foil insulation. So so far so good At the moment there is great heat up there even with the rainy summer (we have 5 windows on the roof) so we shall see when the winter comes in will the attic still hold the heat or if the heat moves up the house to keep it cosy (hopefully not too cosy) Hope that helps and good luck.
