PSP UMD movies

Anyone know where there's a good selection of these movies as most places I've tried (HMV, Gamestop) have a limited selection and are overpriced compared to the equivalent DVD's.

And am I right in thinking that the UMD format isn't popular and is likely to be extinct in the near future?

this statement would have been true about a year ago. the format is all but dead, kept alive by a few titles per month, primarily from Sony Pictures themselves. most studios have pulled their support because sales were way down (they started really well, as the best selling new format in the history of film, or something).

the lessons learned in UMD are being put into action with blu-ray... hopefully.

Nowhere really carries a large selection but Golden Discs and in particular Gamestop carry quite a few at very reasonable prices.

Of course eBay is really the best place to pick them up.

Was in Gamestop today in Rathmines, good selection and most were either 9.99 or 7.99, only brand new ones were like 20 or 15.

Checked Amazon.co.uk last night and they had a deal of 3 UMD movies for £9.99. Included in the offerings was Poseidon which HMV had for €27.99. In the end I bought Hellboy, Knights Tale and Poseidon for £11.20 incl postage which is about €17. Not bad for movies just meant to be watched a half hour at a time on the train, thats if I'm not playing GTA Liberty City which I really love now. Makes me nostalgic about my old PS2 when I completed GTA 3, and Vice City.
