NTL in Ashtown

    Hi All,

I have recently moved into the Rathborne Apt complex in ashtown and I have been looking into getting NTL installed in the apartment. However, the only information i can find is that the only service available to the complex is by a group called cablewatch http://www.cablewatch.tv.

The information regarding this is around a year old and I was wondering if the situation has changed or is there any plans in place to allow NTL to be installed? I think the same applies to other complexes in the area.

It's not likely you will get two cable providers in the same complex. <snip>

Are CableWatch (rubbish name!) any good...? <snip>

...hopefully their service is better than their website.

Spelling mistake -> "Call Center open 24 hours per day"
Then on the contact page -> "By Phone: From 9:00-21:00 Daily. A messaging service is available outside of those hours." Not exactly 24/7!

...oh, and they seemed to have forgotten to include content such as details of the services available!

    Hi JDxtra
Did you go with Cablewatch in the end? How are you finding them? We got it last week and it is not good. The TV is snowy on channels 9 and 16-18. The connection is meant to be 2Mb max so an average of about 0.5-0.6Mb would be expected I believe. We're getting an average of 0.2Mb, and it went to about 40Kb on sunday. Are you having the same problems? Have they just hooked up too many people? Surely you can't sell a product at X and give them less then that. It's like paying for a full tank of petrol and getting half a tank.

Oh yeah, and for a BB provider their website is awful!

Never used them - but sounds like you are getting a poor service. Hope you can get it resolved.

Cablewatch are <snip> provider, they don't provide any digital services and only provide basic analogue channels and it's not even a full range of the basic channels either. If it was me with cablewatch in my place I'd find out is that the only provider I can get.

It is in Rathborne. Altho there is talk of NTL coming.

Down the street in Earlswood all we can get is Smartvision which is absolutely appalling, stuttering picture, pauses and pixelation and you have to wait a couple of minutes when you change channnel for the picture to come up - a complete ritp off - and Smart are ignoring all complaints.

These TV monopoly estates should be made illegal.
