    You all have to remember this one. Shake and Vac! Quite possibly the catchiest jingle of the 1980's. What did it for me was the hoover though, a hoover with a headlight, just so in case your steretypical 80's housewife wanted to hoover in the dark, she could. Savage.

    My mum still sings that tune on the rare occasions she breaks out the hoover ... she maintains that even singing the song gives you a cleaner carpet.

    mrs trout is way too posh for carpets, so we have this anti-static wooden floor cleaner thing, which is deeply unsatisfying :rolleyes:

    My Mum told me once that a neighbor of ours - when we were kids - found her kid downstairs singing along to that ad and emptying Vim (or something similar) on the carpet. :D

    It was the standard carpet cleaning method for years. Every few months (or prior to first time visit of girlfriends), tons of SAV, then a brief rub of the hoover. Unfortunately, Mrs Stovelid runs a tighter ship nowadays.. :)
