    howdy heads?

I have a question for ye..

    my driveway is wrecked....

..with oil, wd40, chain lube and many other colourful & potent substances

what is the most effective way of cleaning it?

(p.s. i have learned my lesson and always use plenty of covering now)
but i still can't get it clean

anyone have any much needed advice?

Powerwasher, they sell them cheap in Lidl every few months.

Failing that, down on your knees and start scrubbing with a wire brush

wd40 and plenty of water before it dries in and drops what its lifted back down - I would have thought

A mix of acetone and white spirit perhaps? I'm no expert though and you'll probably die of poisoning...

there is a product on the market for just that purpose, you should be able to pick it up in your local builders providers.

I think you treat the area wait x time and powerwash off!

Used one a few years back twas much better than anything else i had tried,

WD40 will just dilute and spread the stains.

And it's greasy as fook so I definitely wouldn't recommend WD40 for that purpose...

go to a motors factors and but a degreasent. By that i mean the suff used to clean dried in oil off engines.

rock oil to a great degresant called SOC. i use it to clean motorbike engines to get oil and tar oil. makes em look like new!

    worth a try!

I haven't used it but I have heard that "Gunk" Driveway cleaner is very good. http://www.gunk.eu.com/html/products/830.html not too sure where or if it can be purchased in the republic.

Caustic Soda was always the driveway cleaner of choice for my old man. It breaks down grease/oil and is water soluble so you can wash the broken down mess away with the hose.

what type of surface is on the driveway? if it's tarmac, be careful what you put on it. petrol etc can soften the tar.

buy a degreaser in your local motor factors and powerwash it after
