Tried the search function but it does not seem to be working at the moment.I just have two quick questions.
My sister and her partner purchased a laptop on a recent trip to New York.My question is regarding the power supply, Do they have to purchase a new power supply here to operate on Irish voltages or will a voltage converter do the job?
Second question is regarding Broadband. The laptop was bought for the sole purpose of having Internet Access in their new home.Do they need to have a phone line or is broadband brought in through the tv point?, its with NTL.
Apoligies if my querys are a bit lame, im just not very techy.Cheers.

Have a look at the back of the PSU , lots of laptop ones do from 100v up to what we have

    Second that.

I would say 99.99999% of laptop power supplies are like this. It should say something like 100v-240v 50/60hz on the power supply. (the brick like thing on the cable)

All they will need is a plug adapter.

You can get broadband through NTL, would have to ring NTL and see if their area is enabled.

you can get ntl broadband depending on area, youll have to check with them to see if its available.
if you have a phoneline installed you will be able to get broadband over that without the need for a second line

If NTL can supply Broadband to their area & they choose to go with them? No phone line will be necessary at all.
