Firstly, make sure the power's off before you go near it, you proably know this but just in case....

Sounds like the heating element could be fooked, don't know if they can be replaced or if it's cost efficient to do so.
Ask her if the pressure has dropped off it might be worth cleaning the filter anyway.
Also, find out what model it is and download the trouble shooting guide from the website before you go round, it may be something simple

    Did the tripswitch trip?
Is there enough water in the tank?
Is there an airlock in the system?
Does the unit hum when you turn it on, is the motor working?
    Is the pull switch faulty?

It's hard enough to fix an electrical shower ,there are a few no-no's with regards to sealing it properly and making sure you don't loose any shields inside.

How old is the shower? I have replaced many parts on my shower due to old age but i had a spare unit so it was easy for me to do and i am in the building business! Sometimes the wires can burn out. Lime could have corroded the heating element. There are too many things that can be at fault and you definetly need to know what you are looking for to be able to fix it. Might be best to just change the shower for the same model again. Take care though as models get upgraded and the parts do not always match up with the existing wiring and plumbing.

If you have a mira at the moment ,buy a mira again. If it's a triton go for a triton.

The only trouble you'll have with either is if you try and put a mira where a triton was and vice versa.

sorry if u thought i was answering u negatively -if u think the element is gone just check it with a continuity meter and that will tell u if its gone or not -

i have seen a few accidents happen with people not putting showers back together properly -electricity and water dont mix -and due to the high power of a shower its never a good idea to guess -im just talking about safety

If you want my advice, ring the mira service line.

A guy will come out and replace the part that is broken and give the whole thing a service.

This is the voice of experience.

It's quite tricky working on an electric shower if you're not used to it.

Also, if you do it yourself, be sure to have a second person with you at all times whilst working on the shower. This person needs to make sure you follow all the safety precautions (switching off the unit before touching it, keeping working surfaces dry, making sure ladders are secure) and will be around to help if the worst happens (electric shock or fall).

Mira are very good ,but they only service mira showers.
Modern plant are the service centre for mira.

Triton's service centre is Maynooth shower maintenance.

Have to say ,modern plant is a great place .

Sorry, meant triton or mira, whichever brand the shower is. I have called out triton before, myself, and they seemed pretty good.

Realistically though, these showers do have a lifetime - if you have had it more than 12 or 15 years, you really might be better off getting it replaced.

    Hi boards
Looking for help on how to fix my shower (mira elite st 9.8)
The pull cord light is working, no light is coming on the shower itself, no water coming out,
It has no filter to clean, like other posts have mentioned so any help would be great.

It has a filter its located at the cold water onlet connection.
If you have none of the lights comming on at the shower you could have an issue with your electrics and not the shower, trace your wiring between the switch and shower, check you are getting 220v at the connection block in the shower.
