Best way to reach DC?

I'm flying to D.C. (and on to Charlottesville, VA) on the 29th and coming back on July 14th. I've done some digging around and it seems that the only way to get to D.C. is through Heathrow or Paris, which is rather annoying. Can any experts with travel bookings find direct flights from Ireland to D.C?

If you just want to get to Charlottesville, then fly Dublin - NYC and then on to Charlottesville Albemarle Airport. US Airways have daily flights to Albemarle.
If you want to see DC then look over here

What is or where is DC? Are you talking about Washington DC? If so, Aer Lingus do direct flights.

There used to be a flight direct from Dublin to DC but it stopped shortly
after 9/11, I have relatives over there and they have to go through Heathrow also I'm afraid!
