i did like thundercats as a kid, but as a movie it couldn't possibly come out as anything but camp and/or too weird.

but anyway, a script being optioned for production is a daily occurance, it doesn't necessarily mean it's being given the green light just yet.

    care bears ftw.

I wonder who's going to play Cheetara. :D

    Fu*k no

I was a huge fan and I definitly don't want Thundercats to GO this time.

Edit - just found this on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rDLRsKDLAQ , sent a shiver down my spine ;)

Ah F*ck it, just watched the intro to Thundercats like 10 times now :D

I think i'd like to see a live action movie, purely for Cheetara :p

A live action version wouldn't work. CGI all the way.

Loved it at as a kid. I had most of the action figures and loads of the comic books.

Loved it as a kid too. Think an animated or CGI film would work a lot better than live action.

As it happens I got a Thundercats T-Shirt in the post host this morning, which I'm currently wearing.

Yip it would be terrible I'd say.
It was always a dark cartoon ,they'd prob make it Pg and ruin it.

remember ready ages ago that WWE were going to take it on, with Triple H being the man they wanted to play Liono.

The kids programme from the 80's was utter tripe. Yet another garbage show remembered fondly because of a cool credit sequence and associated toyline.

wash you mouth out! wash it out!

Thundercats was excellent - a lot better then some of the crap dished out today.

Visionairies was another excellent cartoon of the time.

    Oh the memories.

There is no way a live action version could work. <3 Thundercats though.

actually they wanted to do a G.I joe movie instead of the transformers one thats coming out next month but then bush went and invaded iraq. considering whats going on there it wouldve been a teensy bit controversial :D

as to a live action thundercats film i suppose it depends on how its done. look at 300 or sin city. live action but stylised enough to add a fantastical element so it might work. hell i wouldnt mind the visionaires one while were at it. you could do alot with the concept

as to cheetara, angelina jolie for the win. she's pretty much the only hot girl who could kick your arse out there at the moment , well, with the chest for it :D

Ill see your Visionaries, and raise you a Bravestar! The frickin horse would just stand up and start blastin' stuff with his shotgun, i mean come on what more can anyone want?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45FRqTXcF_0

The cartoon makers of our youth had such better imaginations! I think a Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors movie could work as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1c1G24GWDg

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, that is all. :) Live action Thundercats, no thanks, leave it as it is.

I didn't like that horse too much, he was full of himself, Bravestar was a righteous dude though and the wheeled warriors were cool

You're all going off-topic. The thread is about a thundercats movie, not 80's cartoons nostalgia!

    M.A.S.K. ftw :D

    or Starcom?

    or Ring Raiders

I'm on dial up so cant check any of the videos on you tube :(

Back on topic, an ultraviolent thundercats done like 300 would be sweet

Can anyone answer this for me: WHY DID HE HAVE A HORSE???!!?! He could run at about 34 billion miles an hour with that Speed of the Puma thingy, so why bring a horse into the equation?

Anyway, I seriously loved that cartoon. "Thunder. Thuuunder. Thuuuuuunder. THUNDERCATS! HHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Gooseflesh every time.

I don't see how it could possibly be anything other than ludicrous as a live action movie. Do you guys remember the Dolph Lundgren starring Masters of the Universe movie? Rubbish.

Eurgh. Live action or no, I have my doubts as to whether Thundercats, or in fact any of the 80s cartoons we all have such fond memories of, would really make a decent film.

I've been on a bit of a download binge lately, and both Thundercats & Centurions have featured. Having re-watched several episodes of each, I suspect that movie reinventions might best be left alone...

Thundercats was always a pile of ****. A steaming pile in fact. He-man was bad. Thundercats... ugh.
