I wish to start a thread where every body begins with I HAVE LEARNED....
I think it would be interesting reading from pros to noobies.
obviously it has to be poker related but if it isnt derailed it has the potential to become a legendary thread.

I HAVE LEARNED to not disrespect players on their poker ability.Not everybody takes it as seriously as i or has the capacity to.For most poker is a recreational
hobby and a bit of fun.

I HAVE LEARNED that cash game poker players are bookmakers and its very hard to beat a good bookmaker.

Perhaps the most valuable lesson I learned since starting this game is to ask a v. simple question of myself when last to act on the river.... a simple question with which you are all familiar I'm sure.

I was always "aware" of the need to ask this question, but came to realise that I was not really asking it - just vaguely aware of it:

"If I bet, will I only be called by a hand that beats me?"

• that omaha is a complicated kettle of poker bamboozlement
• that i think i prefer omaha
• that the jackpot €20 game is the hardest tourney in Dublin to win
• that aodea complains as much about how he is running as lloyd does, except he does it in person and lloyd does it on boards.
• that in a €5 euro heads up game against aodea on a 567 flop you shouldnt fold AA to a raise (but if it was correct, what a fold it would have been!)
• that if rounders123 is puts his chips in the middle, he is ahead, just fold, you know you're beat, just fold.
• that Mr. Plough will fold to a squeeeeeeze play!
• that Dev's blogs/rants are some of the funniest readings on the internet
• that jbravado is THE resident degenerate on boards
• that LuckyLloyd is the softest money in a home game... EASY EASY EASY!!
• that conor doyle is the best player i've seen play in dublin
• that i owe BCB 2 pints of bulmers, but not when he's driving cos he's very responsible
• that semibluff thinks a great game, and plays a great game... when not polluted.
• that only AKQJ10 can start a story with "so i've potted it under the gun with 94off suit, i get reraised, so i pump and get 3 callers, so we're playing a €900 pot and and they show AA, AA, and KK, the flop come 944, with a 4 on the turn just for fun!"

• that in omaha if i get dealt AAJT i start thinking about the big pot i'm about to lose, but if i look down at 3467 double suited i wet myself with excitement about the big pot im about to win!

Every single poker player tilt's ,it's how you control this ,that make's the difference between profit and lost
That 90% of poker player's over value their ability or skill level,
That 9% of poker player's know and value their ability or skill level.
That 1% of poker player's are real players and can really play the game.
Bankrolls don't make players.
Position equals profit if used right.
Cash players and tournament players are different breeds
That ego's and poker are soul-mates
